Joy Hill is a mother, a mentor, and a minister of the gospel. She comes from a musical family. Music has always been her “happy place”. A native of the island of St. Kitts, and born to missionary parents, Joy began singing at age three. When she was seven years old, her family moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where her passion and skill for music continued to develop and grow. Because of her musical acumen, Joy has had the opportunity to sing, record, and tour with some of the most significant names in Gospel music such as Kirk Franklin…as well as recording 3 solo projects of her own.
While Joy is an anointed singer, songwriter, recording artist, speaker, and philanthropist, her most fulfilling accomplishment has been her role as a mother. Family is extremely important to Joy, and it has always been her first ministry. Her sons, Christopher Jr., and Jonathon are not only her pride and joy, but they have also been her motivation to never give up. An attitude she fought hard to maintain, when life challenged her most.
After experiencing betrayal, rejection, abandonment, and financial hardship, all caused by a very public and painful divorce…she was extremely broken. But because God’s PURPOSE for her life was much greater than her PAIN, she was determined not to get stuck. But Joy didn’t want to just survive… she wanted to thrive. So with the help of the Lord…and also the love, prayers, and support from a community of friends, family, pastors, and counselors, Joy did the hard work to heal. She took the necessary steps to get her life back on track; emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and financially. Her mission is to help other women to do the same.
Joy Hill is bringing a loving, encouraging, and joy-filled message of hope and ferocity to the 1FW audience. While she can encourage any woman going through motherhood, ministry, and marital challenges and divorce, She’s here to specifically speak to the experiences facing women who are currently or formerly married to men in ministry.
